Honestly, most of the rational comments I've seen from people from these 3 colleges on this website haven't really shown "insecurity" (apart from the nonsensical trolling which is anyway non-serious and is meant to annoy and create hype). That would not have been singling out any institution. Had this same joke been aimed at the whole NLU community or even the consortium, I wouldn't have had similar objection to make.

See how sportingly they would have taken it if not obtained prior consent of. As I said, I'd have liked to see Kian try the same 'joke' about Jindal, his advertiser, or something like Comment 6 mentions. If you can, then kudos to you, but it still isn't a benchmark response and not everybody affected can or ought to be expected to react the same way. I'd like to see how sportingly you can continue taking demeaning 'jokes' in your stride if you (or your family members or your community or anybody you care about) are made the butt of it over or by your peers for no rhyme or reason. The series is about a shy, introverted, tee-totaller law student called Sandeep Patel, who interns at a criminal law chamber and befriends a bootlegger selling alcohol in Gujarat, which is in/famously a dry state, of course. We have reached out to Netflix for comment and for its plans for the show, as well as to the GNLU administration. The streaming series, with a working title of Law of the Jungle, was set to begin shooting in July 2020, according to Netflix's press release but, as many other shows, it is likely to be postponed due to the COVID-19 response. That said, it’s not known whether the series will ever see the light of day. We would kindly request you to consider changing the name of the college to avoid any confusion and legal measures you may constrain us to take. In your press release of 12th February 2020 announcing Law of the Jungle, you suggest that the series may portray alcohol and drug use, as well as violence and sexual interaction on campus.Īs former students of GNLU Gandhinagar, we wish to inform you that this would paint an entirely inaccurate picture of this esteemed national law university, and would mislead CLAT applicants about the true nature of legal education.
