In RF4, these runes increase your skills randomly. Runes (a floating blueish dot) can appear when harvesting crops. Two interesting points in his speech are when he mentions using crops as weapons and crops growing into dungeons.hmmm.

Leaving the room via the back door, Lest finds a field filled with weeds, colored grasses, rocks, branches, and stumps with another new character Vishnal waiting for him. This is apparently Ventuswill's orders, since she instituted a law summarized as "Those that will not work, shall not eat."

Again the confusion of Lest name pops up, but Clorica is more open to calling him Lest than Volkanon was. After being woken the next morning, Lest finds someone standing beside his bed.sleeping!? This is Clorica, a chronically sleepy and slightly forgetful butler-in-training under Volkanon's tutelage.
